بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
“In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.”
SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah as I am writing this, I am sitting in the beautiful city of Medinah Tayyibah where our most beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ resides. During my time here, a thought entered my heart, that I should have all my content, fiqh rulings (according to the Hanafi school of thought) available on a website, so that it is easily accessible and even those who are not on social media can benefit Inshā’Allāh.
So I did a little mashwera with my dear friend Madaniyyah, who has a much deeper understanding of the Arabic language. She thought & thought till Allah ﷻ put the most perfect idea into her heart. She explained the following Ayah to me & we took our inspiration from there.
“Have you not seen how Allah has set forth a parable: A good word is like a good tree, having its root firm and its branches in the sky”.
[Surah Ibrahim, Ayah 24]
“Kalimah Tayibbah” in this Ayah translates to “The good word”. Scholars have explained that this refers to testifying to La ilaha illallah.
“Good tree” refers to a palm tree, it’s roots are secure, it grows nice and tall, and it gives fruits (dates) all year around. Scholars have explained that once the kalimah La ilaha illallah (our imaan) is secured deep into a believers heart it gives a believer benefits like a palm tree.
“It’s roots are firm” indicates that La ilaha illallah (our imaan), is firm in the believer’s heart.
“And it’s branches reaches to the sky”
This parable describes the believers deeds, good statements ascending at all times, by day and by night, all year around.
The more we know about Allah ﷻ and the more we know about our beloved Prophet ﷺ, the stronger our La ilaha illallah will become. This recognising Allah ﷻ & His beloved ﷺ is only acquired through ilm (Knowledge).
Hence the name “Shajaratun Tayyibah” (Good tree) as Inshā’Allāh I want my content to be a strong, tall, palm tree that I have planted for my akhirah. This will be my Sadqa-e-jarriyah all the time. My little knowledge that I share will be dates (rizq – sustenance) all the time, all year around for all those who take benefit Inshā’Allāh. Not only that, Inshā’Allāh whoever learns anything from my page, acts upon it & shares it with others, will also be planting their very own palm tree for the akhirah. SubhanAllah! So let’s get planting & growing our beautiful, strong, tall palm tree.
“Tayyibah” is also a nickname for Medinah. What could be a more perfect name as I am writing this in Medinah.
I (Umm Aa’ishah) humbly request for your du’aas & I hope you can help our palm tree grow & benefit many others Inshā’Allāh .
